My issue with Gohan getting a 1.2x Zenkai is that might be around the boost that Goku got, and he had almost all of his bones crushed and had close to 0 ki left. What about:

Gohan: 1,350
Yamcha: 1,400
Krillin: 1,450
Gohan Zenkai: 1,500

I give Goku a 1.5x boost. Vegeta a 1.33x boost and Gohan a 1.2x boost. Seems fair-ish?

I don't think that's enough spacing between Gohan Zenkai and Krillen. Krillen is being pressed back, he's at least a step or two behind.

This is all we have on it. And just prior neither one of them looks stressed at all. If anything it looks like it was even until the very end where Gohan just barely got the edge on him. There's really not enough here to go by to make a placement of either, aside from Gohan > Krillin to some extent.

A competitive gap, look how bad Krillen is out of breath there though. And he outright admits inferiority as well.

During the battle, Krillen is clearly straining more.

There is no evidence he was. Krillen tells him to release his power, it's assumed they used full power.

Tbh they were only taking out some fodder. I prefer both at 1500 for simplicity’s sake, but 1770 is still close to 1500, isn’t it?

So nobody cares that the beam struggle cost Vegeta 2/3 of his power, but losing 500 points with the power ball makes Goku shook? Vegeta picked a night with a full moon and only wanted to use the power ball as a last resort.

He says it will cost power but doesn’t specify. I think the fact he even brought it up makes it more significant than a 10% loss. Specially when Goku is confused at Vegeta sacrificing his power and the fact that’s the first time Vegeta is said to be weakened. Not that the blast didn’t weaken him, but the ball was the real loss.

Gohan must be superior to Krillen, it’s stated and shown.

1,770 is going to be too high since Gohan > 1,800, the quote should be near 2,000 not 1,500 if that was the case.

1,770 is bloating by the guidebooks. They are clueless in regards to how strong Piccolo is and set the bar too high for everyone. Plus they think Raditz is 1,500.

Yeah that’s concerning to me. No one mentions Vegeta losing power at all the whole time. So the power ball and loss of Oozaru must explain for extreme loss of power which allowed Gohan to compete with him.
