Sanji compared to Zoro

It's hard to judge currently, but let's say they still have the same gap that they had during Water 7. How strong is Sanji compared to Zoro? They both seem to have respect for one another's strength, and always seem confident that they can take care of themselves. Is Sanji close to Zoro?

There are a few things that seem to imply them being in the rival range - their team play in the "football" game, working together to take out the Pacifista after the timeskip, etc. Still a few implications that Zoro is a few shade stronger. Can't really think of any right now. Maybe Zoro always training? I'm sure there are a bunch.

Perhaps Bartolomew considering Zoro the first mate says something about their New World powers.

Still, we don't have enough to go off currently. Zoro beat Pica rather easily, and I don't recall Sanji doing anything.

Wonder if Oda planned to always have Big Mom first, or didn't want Kaido to overshadow the rest of the Yonkou.

Or maybe we'll see Kaido in action at the same time, as we still don't fucking know what happened to Kid, Apoo and Hawkins.

Based on feats, Zoro's been showing off enough post-timeskip to place even Base Zoro > Diable Jambe Sanji, though Sanji probably get a fair boost from surviving the fight against Doflamingo based on Zoro's comments about OP-Zenkais back in Enies Lobby.

Zoro one shotting sanji when he was considered "near death" by kuma on Thriller Bark?

Sanji breaking his leg against vergo, while zoro beat pica with little to no effort?

Those two things pre/post timeskip make me think zoro is still stronger.

Oda I'm pretty sure has stated that they are close.

Zoro's goal makes it seem like he would be stronger and that he was the most independent of the crew once Nami was fully on board.
Zoro fighting Luffy evenly on Whiskey Peak rather than Sanji and the other times Zoro has had a captain-like role such as on Thriller Bark, Enies Lobby (pretty sure Zoro performed the best along with Luffy when CP9 revealed themselves) and Skypeia, mind you Sanji had his Mr Prince moment at Arabasta (wouldn't consider this as clear cut though) and went ahead at Enies Lobby. Zoro also fought beat the second strongest of CP9 and took out Mr1 in Arabasta.
