Unless you believe Base Goku and Yakon to be above CG MSSJ Goku, then Shin gets oneshotted. El Manga Legendario speculating his power "based on his feats" is nowhere near as solid a guidebook entry as the Daizenshuu explicitly citing Shin as being scared of Yakon.
I doubt his paralysis would help much as he would've factored that in when saying they'd need to gang up on Yakon. It only worked so well on Gohan because of him being off guard and Shin was still only able to utilise it for a few seconds.

Piccolo shat an entire brick wall to Kaioshin though. The same guide saying Kaioshin fears Yakon confirms this twice. Base Saiyans > Piccolo is the way to go.

I really don’t see anything that proves Shin > Piccolo. Always thought it was Kami’s influence that made him back down out of respect/not knowing what he’s up against.

Except you don't need a guide to see that Kaioshin was a complete cuck and was terrified of Yakon despite being well aware of who he was.

Goku didn't ask "why did you back down", he asked if Kaioshin was strong.

Kaioshin knowing Yakon from before doesn't mean he knows his current strength, though it's possible Yakon (pre Majin) > Kaioshin.

But anyway, Piccolo's admission of inferiority to Shin is much clearer than Kaioshin's to Yakon, so I don't see why only take one of them at face value.

Because Kaioshin knew of Yakon before he was controlled by Babidi, meaning there's no reason why he wouldn't be familiar with his power. Why would he know of him and be afraid of him despite having no knowledge of his power? Makes no sense. Piccolo's admission of inferiority isn't based on anything. He can't sense Kaioshin.

Piccolo can't read minds either but he left knowing Kaioshin was a deity. Ki sensing isn't the only way to figure out someone's power, even Ginyu or Freeza could do it without sensing Ki or a scouter.

It's never really clear if Kaioshin's Ki can be sensed or not tbf. I mean, he's not the only god who can be sensed, and in DBS (which introduced the concept of God Ki) Piccolo says he's never "felt" (or failed to feel) something like Beerus' Ki before. Trunks also told Vegeta he could feel a pressure or something, so it's not like he gives no presence at all.

Piccolo literally states that he can't sense godly ki in Super lmfao. In what case has someone been able to accurately measure an opponent with no ki signature and who hasn't displayed their abilities in battle?

Ginyu arrived, took a look at Goku and said “yeah, he’s a 60k”.

How do you even interpret what happened in the ring? Piccolo came in, wondered why he felt like that, Kaioshin replied despite Piccolo only having said that in his head, Piccolo quit. What the fuck did Piccolo feel to act like that?

Because he was the Grand Kaio in Piccolo's mind. You can chalk it up to quitting out of respect or fear of the unknown. Is Piccolo really the sort of guy who would get in the ring and slaughter the guy who he assumes is the Grand Kaio?

Makes sense. While Piccolo quitting out of respect and being weaker aren’t mutually exclusive (Dai Kaio is sort of a beast in filler), Goku did assume Piccolo threw the match because he was weaker. Piccolo probably only “confirmed” that to keep his suspicions to himself.

Piccolo was initially looking forward to the match. Kaioshin carried an aura that implied he wasn't just some random guy. For one, the lack of ki signature caused Piccolo to speculate that he was the Grand Kaio.

Kaioshin reading Piccolo's mind was the last straw. You can see that Piccolo's Shouki was being heavily impacted by this unknown foe. It's worth mentioning that Piccolo thought the rumours of Kaioshin weren't real, so in his mind the Grand Kaio was the God who stood at the top of the universe. It's a reasonable assumption to believe this god would be extremely powerful. There's simply no basis for this line of thinking aside from Kaioshin giving off the impression of being a formidable foe, along with Piccolo's own suspicion.
