Episode 29
Time: around 13m
Context: After Vegeta knocks Goku through a small mountain
Vegeta: "Bit the dust, have you?"
Goku: "Y-you sure are strong... [ ] I-it's been a long time since I fought someone strong, like you..."
Vegeta: "I will concede that your feelings are worthy of the mightiest of Saiyans. However, there is more to my power than just this. Before you die, I will show it to you. [ ] This is the difference in power between the primitive Saiyans, and the evolved Tsufruians. [ ] And now, my servants! Let me, Baby-sama, have your Saiya powers!"
Gohan, Goten, Trunks, Bra: "Yes, Baby-sama."

Is this a reference someone Goku fought before of similar strength?

I take it as strong in relation to Goku. No one is as strong as Baby Vegeta. A better way Goku could have put it is, it's been a long time since I've been in such an intense battle or something of that nature.

This isn't a Baby Vegeta vs Buu statement, but I can see how you get there. When hyper analyzing quotes its important to recognize the intent and narrative over interpreting in ways that could be plausible but don't recognize intent and narrative.

"strong like you" =/= "strong as you"

If you take it as a statement of absolute value rather than relative value, then you could say it implies Baby-Vegeta > Kid Buu/Buuhan > Rilldo = Mr. Buu.

I’m strongly considering Rildo being compared to Mr Boo. That’s the only way to make SBV2 > Super Vegetto > SBV1 work without arbitrarily nerfing SSJ’s multiplier to 2x.

Yeah Kid Boo is the better option, if we don't fall for Toei Hax. Mr Boo is too lame.

I always found it weird that people could say Dabra is compared to a suppressed Cell but insist Rild > Boohan regardless of any evidence against it.

You don't have the right to find anything weird with the amount of awful takes you have now.

I have no idea what you and P keep babbling about. I agree with pretty much everything you guys say. Is this because I had 100% Freeza a couple percentage points too weak?

Wait I got it. It's because of the SSJ2 multiplier thread I made. SSJ2 being 2x is wrong but making it 1.5x in GT is fine? Come on. I'm just trying to streamline things here. And I made a list with SSJ2 = 4x right after lol.

Why not Kid Buu? Kid Buu isn’t even much stronger than Mr. Buu.

GT follows the anime which has kid Buu hax.

Arguing Vegeta was equal to 18. The expected androids argument. Piccolo vs Cell. Colonel Silver losing to Mr. Satan.

Just to list a few off the top of my head. Just trying to figure out how you come to some of these conclusions. Too smart for some of these insane interpretations.

Like here you say arbitrarily lowering the SSJ multiplier. That's simply disingenuous. There is a direct quote in the anime regarding this. You can disagree with it if you want but there's nothing arbitrary about it.

I think it's a sort of autism or something. Something is off about this boy, he's missing something. I can't quite put my finger on it, he's perfectly normal sometimes, and then the logic is from bizzaro land and then he's rebellious about it too. Spectrum type of stuff is my best guess.

Koyama said GT is the continuation of the Z anime. There's also the fact that GT makes direct references to anime exclusive things like the portrayals of the tuffles as human-like in appearance. It doesn't do any good to imagine GT as based on some imaginary version of Z that has traits of the anime and manga in a hodgepodge way.

Do you have the quote? Is it in an interview or Perfect Files? Do Koyama and Perfect Files ever disagree?

Haha, I think that's what I'll do. Manga scaling with anime filler added. I think it can be scaled to the manga.

It was in Twitter/X. Someone asked if GT is the official sequel to the Z anime and Koyama said yes.

I think what may be holding you back is assuming Uub should become as strong as Kid Buu by episode 1, but that's not really explicitly confirmed. You could scale Uub weaker and he gets his Kid Buu strength back as Majuub, if you're inclined to nerf the scaling for Rilldo to equal Mr. Buu. Some of the quotes can seem a little odd with Uub already as strong as the strongest Buu even before Goku fights Rilldo.

Honestly, I don't really listen to anyone at TOEI. They have no idea how to power scale anything. I think I'm better off being creative and seeing what I can come up with.

Uub should have matched Kid Buu at the 28th Budokai though? Certainly 5 years later he's surpassed him by quite a lot.

I like

Base Goku = Uub > Rild > Kid Buu

Mr. Buu is a lame comparison like GSM said.
