Something doesn't quite add up with Vegeta vs 19

So we know that 19 absorbed quite a lot from Vegeta's energy, and yet he was completely hopeless once Vegeta disarmed him. Vegeta had more than enough power to wipe him out, yet he had to bluff his way out vs 20. Is the gap between 19 and 20 that large? Something like:

20 pre >> Vegeta >>> 19 (post Vegeta) >>> 19 (post Goku) >>> 19 (initially)

That's something I was thinking in. Another possibility is that 19 lost power when being wrecked by Vegeta. So maybe the 19 that grabbed Vegeta was already very weakened, so the 19 post Vegeta wasn't that strong in retrospect.

I'd maybe go with the route that Vegeta lost a bunch of power when releasing his Big Bang Attack, but Piccolo seems to put, moreso, the emphasis on Vegeta's loss of power by the act of 19's absorptions. Still tho, Piccolo seemed very surprised when Vegeta was about to fire the BBA attack, which got me pondering a little as well... was Vegeta THAT weakened by then, to the point of being < 20 when he grabbed that attention from Piccolo? Well maybe he was and the BBA had a very powerful amp. Idk tho.

Thoughts?

I think you can make sense of it by assuming several things.

1. 19 was definitely heavily weakened by Vegeta. If Goku's assault was enough to nearly run him dry, Vegeta's should have been more effective.

2. Vegeta lost some ki using the BBA. While it's a pretty simple attack, perhaps ki attacks are more draining when you are already low on stamina.

3. The Androids don't absorb ki at a 1:1 rate. This can be seen pretty clearly by 19 absorbing a KHH from Goku and he clearly didn't become 3+x stronger from it. So Vegeta could have had half of his ki drained, but 19 might have only converted 33% of it into energy.

Unless he’s doing it on a fake account :troll

I don’t think 19 lost energy by being hit. If he does then what’s the point of the androids not suffering pain and fatigue? I think what Gero was trying to say was that 19 would run out of energy from his own movements trying to fight back, like a cellphone battery dying from usage.

With that in mind we should factor in the energy 19 was losing from having to hold Vegeta in place. That means his power was hardly increasing if at all when holding down Vegeta.

What I think is pretty odd here is how Vegeta knew he’d have to bluff against 19. 20’s power was a mystery. I don’t see why they would think he’s stronger than 19

Gero designed himself and 19 assuming they would be infinitely stronger than the opposition. He literally states that he miscalculated everything, and naturally that should include how the absorption model of android would handle being beaten down by a superior fighter.

Also, consider that Vegeta expected the three new androids (16/17/18) to be a lot stronger than the Nineteen he fought, yet he thought he could defeat them even if all three of them attacked him at the same time.

I sometimes don't post in the threads I've agreed with the answer as I wouldn't have much to add.

But honestly, I'd be fine with 20 being THAT stronger than 19 and having a chain of "20 pre >>> Vegeta (post energy absorption) >>> 19 (post Vegeta) >>> 19 (post Goku) >>> 19 initial). I wouldn't mind it as all it would lead to would be bloat and I don't care about bloating. But the problem is that 19 post the KMHMH should be reaching or likely surpassing sick Goku initially... which would in turn make 20 (pre) >>>> sick Goku, which doesn't sound right with 20's reaction to sick Goku's prowess.

Isn't it possible that Vegeta also got weaker after firing the Big Bang Attack?

He probably felt the stamina drain since he just became a Super Saiyan and BBA is an energy straining attack.
