I think they both get fucked in both rounds as even Gohan was tossed around from the Bojack crew working as a team. 2 less powerful and less experince fighters can't get the job done.

The kids lose hard. They're incredibly unskilled compared to CG Gohan, who could barely handle all the henchmen at once.

Then Roshi is drunk considering that would mean Gohan would be weaker than his Buu Saga Teen which is retarded considering movie 9 takes place only a few weeks after the cell games.

Roshi's not the only one to say this. Pretty sure either Kuririn or Tenshithands also say it.

M9 doesn't have to take place only a few weeks after the Cell Games, since manga-wise there's a 3 year gap between Trunks killing his timeline's #17/18 and Cell. You can also have Trunks/Vegeta getting a fair bit stronger in that time to compensate the gap, as well as argue that Vegeta kept training but gave up on actual fighting to excuse his mindset in M9.

Pretty sure Chi-Chi said Gohan had been back in the books for a couple weeks now and that's why she was letting him go to the tournament to take a breather, or something like that.

Nothing suggests Gohan lost power. Its not something we're told definitively until the 25 TB.

The power scaling for these guys is kind of iffy, the way they were atomized by SSj2 Gohan would suggest that they are a stand-in for the Cell Jrs, but if they were at that level then I doubt they would be able to overpower Gohan in such a fashion. Nevertheless, I'm giving it to the minions because the Psycho Strings are OP.

I give this to the minions, I think either one of them could take them both (Although that may be a bit of a stretch). I haven't done numbers in a VERY long time, but I remember when I did I put the boys beneath Cell Games Vegeta and considering how they could give Gohan issues by ganging up on him, the boys wouldn't fare much better.
