Seems pretty hypocritical for Alita to call Yugo a coward for wanting to give up and die near his dream, only for her to do the same thing after his death. Suddenly she is repressing her memories and wants nothing to do with her past goal.

I'd say the romance was fine when considering their ages and character. Yugo's in his early teens, at which point hormones are running wild and he'd be very likely to be so dramatic, whereas Alita's characterisation shows her innocence at this point with a very childish and idealistic view of both the world and romance. Her portrayal here was pretty essential for showing her development later on.

To be fair, Alita didn't have any major dream she was striving towards. Whilst wanting to find out more about her past, it wasn't as dear to her as Yugo's goal and doesn't become so until her later search for self-identity.

I suppose so, and she did later on say that she was still trying to unlock her old memories through fighting. Either way, to shrug off Ido and act as though she had never met him was cowardly.

On chapter 36. Alita's romance with Figure 4 felt unnecessary and extremely rushed given the time they had together. So far Kenshi is right lol.

Interesting seeing Alita work more closely with Zalem. I was unaware that they played such a significant role in the lower world's affairs. I wonder why they care at all.

What the hell? The timeskip between Ido's death and now has been 10 years? I guess that makes it more clear as to why Alita has become far more insane.

Without spoiling anything, he does. Probably the most fleshed out and complex antagonist in the original manga other than Nova and maybe Jashugan.
