Gotenks slaughters. While the kids didn't train hard after the Boo arc, it was still implied that they did train. At worst they'd be slightly stronger than they were in the Boo arc, but could be dramatically stronger depending on how fusion gains work.

Well the boys are at least as strong as they used to be in the Boo Saga, so Gotenks still stomps.

didn't trunks say he heard goten's been training & asking he whether he will enter the tournament? that coupled with vegeta's comment abt them acting weak (even-tho he does say acting), might imply they actually have gotten lower.

I don’t think lack of training affects your power as much as your ability. Gohan’s power loss was mostly because he couldn’t get angry anymore.
Plus they were more or less naturally that strong, so I don’t think they could get weaker. How can someone at age 18 be weaker than their 8yo self?

Vegeta literally states it was because he didn't train. The lack of anger is what prevented him from accessing SSJ2 post Budokai.

also i jst looked but among the “controversial” dragon-book statements that @Tapion was so kewl to point-out that also said that trunks & goten got lower i think, even-tho u could say that that was talking abt the anime that was talking abt a canonical event where i don’t think the anime changed anything (episode 290) i think

I'd take the Daizenshuu over an anime only excerpt that wasn't written with the manga in mind, regardless of whether or not the events changed. Whoever wrote those statements had nothing to do with the manga. The Daizenshuu isn't much better but is at least approved by Toriyama.

As has already been stated, Goten and Trunks are at worst slightly stronger than their Boo Arc selves, so Gotenks stomps. Even using anime Gotenks to take the Dragon Books statement into account for the sake of the matchup, Gotenks was already noticeably above Boo, so I'd still give it to Goten and Trunks assuming their anime decrease was a marginal one.

i also think i some-time went by the idea of perfecting the dance further can result to a more power-ful fusion, that's why post-rosat gotenks was a-lot more power-ful than pre-rosat despite not seemingly having powered-up as much individually, that could maybe play a role if some might think that way because they might not have performed fusion in a long time

I doubt that'd be the case for EoZ Gotenks when before the Rosat training Gotenks couldn't even go SSJ at will. Once fusion has been mastered, it doesn't seem like something you can become rusty in beyond the right moves for the dance and timing.
