But if you use the promotional material and just the fact that they weren't included in the top 10, without watching episode 83 yet where they explain why every fighter is being picked, then you'd have to come to the conclusion they're simply not strong enough. That's all I'm saying.

The problem is that Dragon Ball Super's power scaling is so bad, I actually wouldn't be surprised if Roshi had surpassed Goten and Trunks at this point.

Also, TOEI knows people care about Krillin, Tenshinhan and Roshi, but Goten is absolutely no one's favorite character and TOEI seems determined to waste his battle potential that should be much higher than Gohan's.

Why would Goten's potential be higher than Gohan? None of them is close to Gohan in terms of potential.

He became a Super Saiyan when he was 7 with almost no training. I think that puts him higher than Gohan. He just hasn't trained to unlock that potential.

That's because he was conceived when Goku was in SSjin before the Cell Games and SSjin has become a bargain sale like Vegeta said.
