Which 'show' do you think better portrayed Vegeta's character?


I think GT did it better mainly because of Vegeta's speech at the end of the Boo saga. I see it as Vegeta pretty much admitting that Goku is his superior and that he may never catch up to him. Even though he'd like, he is pretty cool with the fact that Goku may always be his superior. In Super, in the first episodes, we see Vegeta extremely bothered with the fact that Goku is #1 and that the gap between them might be stretching even more, which doesn't match the way he faced the situation at the end of the manga. He still seems to be obsessing at the #1 title, although we do have some scenes in the very Super that shows his character's development in relation to Cell saga, for example, whereas he still prioritize being with Bulma rather than training with Goku.

The Super version of Vegeta is better. Vegeta admitted that Goku is better than him and he understood why but that doesn't mean he's gonna let Goku pass him just like that since he's a Saiyan as well and they aim to be the strongest.

The GT version is nothing more than a redemption for him to achieve SSjin4 at the end of the series which didn't give him any benefit other than a fodder to Goku, Omega and even Nouva Sheron.

Would've said Super Vegeta since he has far more of a balance between his Saiyan pride and life as an Earthling, whereas GT Vegeta tended to be primarily shifting towards the latter. However, Vegeta's character has been flip flopping between his current developments and his Cell/early Boo Arc character so much in the most current arc I'd say it's a tie.

In terms of usefulness, Super Vegeta since he manages to stay relevant to Goku in equal forms and has a much higher impact in battles than his GT counterpart. Character-wise, if Super Vegeta's temporary development setbacks aren't considered, then I'd say him. Though, since these shifts in attitude are still very present, I edge it to GT Vegeta in this category for now.

I prefer the look of DBS Vegeta, but I hate everything about SSJG, SSJGSSJ, Super etc, so I'd say GT.
