Chappa wins.

Goku (Initial @Chappa) > King Chappa ~ Goku (Expected) > Goku (Uranai Baba) > Gohan > Tao Pai Pai

I honestly dont know. I'm pretty sure the mention of Toa Pai Pai was more of a big deal than King Chappa.

Chapa-o appeared to show Goku's progress over the 3 years, how does it make sense for him to be lower than Tao-Pai-Pai, who Goku could already defeat with some difficulty 3 years ago, then? At-least he could be on-par with post-Karin-training Goku, in-order for us to see Goku's progress, or else that doesn't make sense. From a story-telling perspective that makes no sense. I mean really.

King Chappa doesn't have to be stronger than post Karin Goku to show Goku's progress imo. He could be as strong as Tao Pai Pai and still be used to show Goku got stronger, because Tao Pai Pai wasn't an opponent Goku could defeat that easily before.

Like with Blue, who doesn't have to be stronger than 21st Goku, but showed Goku got stronger.

He could be, but that'd under-mine the intent, then. Tao-Pai-Pai was someone who could barely put up a fight against Goku 3 years ago, to get stomped by an even more trained Goku doesn't seem to be all that impressive. On-top of that we got the statements before which all kind-of point to one direction.

The problem with that is, with Blue Krillin wasn't worried about Goku's chances against Blue he just saw that Goku got stronger by how easily he beat him. With Chappa everyone is concerned about Goku's chances and thinks only because it's Goku he could pull off the slight win another thing to note about this is that this is three years post training Goku while it hadn't even been a few weeks after the tournament when Goku fought Blue so everyone's expectations about Goku's gains are a lot more than Krillin's about Goku against Blue.

King Chappa could very well be above Tao Pai Pai, but I don't think he appearing to show Goku's progress is indicative of that. Blue, for example, could very well be below Namu but he still showed Goku got stronger.

He could be, like I said but I also think it'd under-mine the reason for the fight even happening. Goku's progress was supposed to be magnificent just by looking at the fight, to go from almost stomping Tao-Pai-Pai to stomping him doesn't seem all that great of a progress, at-least to me. We also have the statements and the way the fight is shown. Me saying that Chapa-o is there to show Goku's progress doesn't have to mean it's a General-Blue like situation, because both situations and scenarios are different.
