Considering he was able to harness a technique that brought him from weaker than the Base Saiyans to accomplishing a feat far beyond their SSJ forms (ie. the biggest technique amp in the series by far), it may very well be the case. Also, whether attributed fully to his abilities or from his inhuman genealogy (if believing that Daizenshuu statement and Suzuoki's comments), utilising techniques such as the Shiyo-ken and Shishin no Ken are no small feat for someone who's either entirely or mostly an Earthling (unless you're anime Kuririn for the latter technique :troll).

I like to think his cloning is essentially the same principle as what the Yardrats do to accomplish that as depicted by Toyotaro.

It does make for an interesting comparison, though iirc there was no mention made of the Yardrattians' Ki being divided through their cloning method. You could assume Tenshinhan's version is essentially a novice version of it, but it'd still suggest they're quite different.

There wouldn't really be a purpose in mentioning it though. They were demonstrating their techniques to show what they could accomplish, and it wasn't supposed to be the ability that Vegeta was gonna end up learning anyway.

Whilst that is true, you would expect someone of Vegeta's skill and personality to instantly pick up on this flaw and be unimpressed if so rather than the surprised expression he shows. I do suppose Vegeta not training in this skill would lend credence to the flaw perhaps remaining though, considering a set of equal SSBE Vegetas would make it a ridiculously broken skill with or without Spirit Fission.
