Did the blind kid forget Buu, who gave him sight?

Maybe some journalist got their big break writing about Buu and then their work was forgotten.

It doesn't make any sense. Surely there were a lot of photographs and videos taken of Boo. News broadcasts and newspapers made about him. Shen Long erased everyone's memories, but did he destroy all evidence of his existence, too, even though mental memories =/= physical evidence? Writing is terrible
