The generational-shift in Boo-Saga

The dynamic in early boo-saga is certainly very interesting, don't you think? Goku has been the main-character since day-1 until cell-games. He comes-back in early Boo-Saga but things have changed. There’s a whole new gen. who don't know any-thing about him. Trunks & Goten & Maron. To them, Gohan is the Goku. They look-up-to him. When Goku "let" Vegeta & Gohan die they heard all these legends about the gr9 Goku & he just let their heroes die like that? & ran-away back to look-out like a coward? No-wonder they felt angry at him, but to Gohan & Piccolo & co. Goku is every-thing. Gohan would have not liked them being dis-respect-full to Goku. Piccolo even called them out on being dis-respect-full. It’s like Goku’s an out-aider in his own friend-group.

When they called him a coward or some-thing on look-out after they found-out Vegeta & Gohan died.

Yeh it could be that they didn't witness his previous battles, grit and progress that showed his training acumen. They think he's of soft constitution and not a great warrior, unlike Vegeta and Gohan* who fought and died against Buu. They're upset about those deaths and this guy who didn't even fight during that time to help their fallen close relatives is saying he'll teach them - he's pathetic compared to those they're grieving over; maybe it's more of an emotional grief reaction. Would they feel that if Gohan had been out cold while Goku and Vegeta died instead?

Not sure about Trunks. Maybe. Maybe not, but I don’t think Trunks would have been as harsh on him, even in early-Boo-Saga when Gohan visited the family for costume he seemed to maybe look-up to him. To Goten Gohan was like a hero he could do no wrong, I think.
