The Z-Warriors play Nappa & Vegeta's game?

Suppose in this scenario, Piccolo stops Kuririn from attacking all the Saibaimen at once and tells him they need to buy as much time as possible for Goku. Do you believe doing so would allow Goku to arrive before Piccolo dies and, if so, how would it effect the rest of the story?

Nappa seems easily triggered. Vegeta is so strong, he wouldn't care since he thinks he's untouchable anyway, but I could see Nappa being like "they are destroying all the Saiba-Men, I'll handle this.".

Probably not. The Saibamens were fodder to most of the Z Fighters and would be finished pretty quick.

If it somehow stalls a bit, probably Goku would arrive on the final second to save Piccolo and Gohan from the blast or feed Piccolo with a Senzu before he perish. Had Piccolo lived, he'd not let Vegeta flee and Dodoria kills them on Namek, with Goku arriving to find his dead friends and go SSJ and kills Freeza's henchmens, only to be killed by Freeza.

I doubt it would allowed Goku to arrive since it took him 3 hours to arrive after all of the Z Warriors were dead. Piccolo would've live if he didn't talk about Goku being nearby and his power,
- Vegeta wouldn't pick up his scouter and be freak out by Goku's power
- which caused Nappa to freak out as well
- then Vegeta wouldn't have order Nappa to kill Piccolo and the others
Remember, Vegeta did say if Goku was really brought back to life by the DBs, then they have no need for Piccolo as they could go to Namek and use their DBs.


If that happens, they would still need to go to Namek as Chiaotzu has been brought back to life already. The only difference I see is Piccolo wouldn't fuse with Nail.

I'm not sure if Piccolo being able to kill Vegeta would be a sure thing. In this scenario, Piccolo would likely be distracting Vegeta the most after Galu went down and considering how damaged Gohan was by the end, I doubt Piccolo would be walking after the battle. Kuririn's involvement in the battle was pretty minor compared to Gohan's after all.

Namek stills happens due to a year seeming a bit much to wait to revive the fallen (not to mention Chaozu wouldn't be revived) and Vegeta's words making Kuririn scared he may target Namek. I see Vegeta escaping alive and Piccolo taking Gohan's place on the ship, seeing as how Gohan wouldn't have much of an incentive to defy Chichi with Piccolo still alive. I do imagine he would choose to go with his father once he heard of the dire situation everyone was in so we'd get Gohan and Goku training together on the Gravity Chamber, though with two people, the Senzu intake doubling would mean their gains would be nowhere near as great as Galu's 90k power in the main timeline.
On Namek, I imagine things would go similarly to before other than that Piccolo would make sure to either not reveal the Dragon Radar like Gohan did or avoid Vegeta altogether before getting his potential unleashed. Once doing so, I believe Nail would also inform him of Namekian fusion and tell Piccolo he'd be willing to fuse if there comes a time he can no longer serve Saichoro. After that, I believe the battle with the Ginyus would go as well as in the main timeline, or perhaps better due to Piccolo being stronger and smarter than Gohan, allowing him to likely kill Gurd and last against Reacoom until Goku shows up. After that, things would go relatively the same until Piccolo sensed Nail's power up, at which point he'd head to fuse with Nail. I'm going to assume his potential would be fully unleashed at this point or the fusion would cause it to be, making him as strong as in the main timeline. Piccolo kills Freeza before he can transform due to Freeza underestimating the power needed to kill him and taking a while going into his 2nd form, Freeza's victims are wished back to life and Moori becomes the Kami of the Namekians.
However, this peaceful resolution means the lack of many things. For one, if Cold comes to Earth, nobody has the power to oppose him. For the sake of not branching out into too many scenarios, I'll just say a few of the Z-Warriors die and SSJ Goku kills Cold before another trip to Namek revives those who can't be already. In the timeline where Trunks arrives, he doesn't intervene due to Galu being there and only informs Goku of things after he goes Super Saiyan. However, regardless of what twists the plot takes afterwards, the lack of Shunkan Ido means that everything ultimately ends at the Cell Games with the destruction of Earth.

Piccolo replaces Gohan for the mission to Namek. Krillin and Piccolo
do not save Dende, so they don't get extra info and they keep
wandering in the dark with their kis suppressed instead. Eventually,
they find Guru's house. By that time, Vegeta has done his stuff
(killed Dodoria, got a zenkai from Zarbon, stolen Freeza's balls)
and is waiting with his senses sharp to detect the Z fighters' kis.
As for Zarbon, since he didn't manage to find Vegeta, it's hard to
figure out what he does. Escapes to outer space? Can he survive
with no oxygen? Nah, he probably hides somewhere on Namek.
Piccolo and Krillin get their potentials unlocked and wait for
Goku and Gohan to arrive, so that they can formulate a plan.
Ginyu Forces find them. They go to fight somewhere else, so that
they won't risk Guru's life.
Vegeta senses their battle powers rising and goes to check it out.
He watches the battles while hidden behind some rock and with
his ki suppressed. He mumbles curses for his weakness.
Gurd is defeated one way or another. Nail puts up an even fight
with Recoome (Piccolo's potential has not been fully unlocked yet,
so he wouldn't stand a chance) and buys enough time for Goku
and Gohan to arrive. Goku is about as strong as Dodoria or Handsome
Zarbon (without kaioken). Gohan is close to Nappa (not the Daiz
version).
Goku one shots Recoome with a 3x Kaioken and asks Recoome's
comrades to take him and leave before they get hurt. Ginyu decides
to fight Goku. The fight is even for a while, until Goku powers up to
10x Kaioken, just for display, and gives Ginyu Forces one more chance
to escape.
Ginyu takes Goku's body and attacks the others. Soon, they find out
they can beat Ginyu-Goku. However, Jeice and Butta join the fight.
Jeice easily takes Nail, who's tired after his fight against Recoome,
while Butta takes Piccolo, Krillin and Gohan.
All Z fighters are killed. Ginyu Forces collect their dragonball and
resume their seacrh for the other 6. Vegeta keeps his chi hidden,
hoping for a chance to steal the seventh ball from Ginyu Forces.
Eventually, Guru dies and the balls become stones. Ginyu Forces
go back to Freeza and say something like 'sorry, boss, mission
failed'. Freeza punishes them with a good beating, destroys Namek
(thus killing Vegeta and Zarbon) and decides to forget about that
story.
After Ginyu is healed from Freeza's punishment, he realizes he's
stronger than before. Eventually, he discovers the advantages of
having a Saiyan's body and starts training it. His power level
reaches low millions, but he cannot use kaioken or turn into a
Super Saiyan. Eventually, he dies of the heart virus that was in
Goku's body, unless he takes another body when he realizes he's
sick.
Meanwhile, on Earth, Androids devastate the world until Cell awakens
and absorbs them. Perfect Cell destroys whatever life forms are still
left on Earth, destroys the planet itself and goes to explore the universe.
He clashes with Freeza's empire and takes over, unless Freeza is smart
enough to withdraw somewhere and train for 4 months (but i don't think
he is). Cell spawn a society of Cell Jrs and reforms the universe after
his image.
If Babidi manages to awaken Buu someday, Cell clashes with Buu. When
he sees he can't win, he tries to take Buu with him by selfdestructing.
Buu regenerates, but so does Cell, with a zenkai. The fight resumes,
but soon Cell realizes Buu is a retard and talks him into killing Babidi.
Cell and Buu become pals. Buu and Cell Jrs play many fun games
together.
If that version of Cell was predicted by the oracle fish to be the Super
Saiyan God, Beerus goes to find him. Cell (post god status), Buu and
Cell Jrs participate in Universe 6 tournament, assuming Beerus and
Champa decided to hold it even if Beerus woke up later than in canon.
If Zamasu gets mad at Cell, the Zero Mortal Plan succeeds. Otherwise,
everything keeps being fine. When Zeno decides to erase the universes,
Cell sends Buu and Cell Jrs to play with him, so Zeno changes his mind.
Buu, Cell Jrs and Zeno play many fun games together.
