Tien's depth perception

Would having three eyes in real life, in the positions Tien has them, give you better depth perception? Does Tien in the manga or anime show signs of better depth perception?

During Tien vs Jackie Chun's match. Tien uses all three of his eyes to see through Chun's afterimages.

That is the only time I remember Tien using his third eye beyond an aesthetic.
