Do you think it's being better handled than the ToP anime's counterpart, thus far?

Just after Hit gets eliminated, so most likely the Kefla fight will be in the next chapter or two.

Much better (I recently made a thread about how better than the anime I think it already is).

There's a youtuber from my country saying that, from her POV, the ToP was way better handled in the anime, with the manga not going in-depth in some character's characterisation and turning some eliminations like Kuririn's meaningless, as well as rushing a lot of things that had a more special building in the anime. I am just completely summing up her thoughts though, her "more in depth thoughts" are way more eloquent than what I just told. I would link to her video, but it's in Portuguese so you probably wouldn't understand I think.

What do you think about that, btw?

Less characterisation means nothing when the characterisation of the anime's cast resulted in a bunch of generic archetypes and contradictive characters.

Also, Manga Jiren >>> Anime Jiren in terms of characterisation.

The "characterization" thing is just too soon to compare, but from what I've seen Jiren has already been much better characterised in those first compasses of the saga than in the whole anime where he spent dozens of chapters sitting on the ground and doing nothing.
None of U7 needed any extra characterisation, since we know them all very well, and from the U6 roster Calufilla and Kale seem much more interesting in the manga to me, though we've only seen their introductions.

In the end, the only characterisations the anime will do better is going to be the one for all the random fighters that had entire chapters dedicated to them, but that's because the anime had tons of filler AND none of those characters had any meaningful personality trait.

Regarding Krilin's elimination... it's what had to happen. I mean, if some resemblance to in-univese coherency has to be maintained, Krilin was there just to inflate the numbers.
Considering most of the tournament fighters are in the SSJ levels of power I like that things went like that. In fact, I'm worried about Mutenroshi and I fear some asspull to give him some time to shine... I hope the manga doesn't do this and that whatever he tries to do it's coherent what he's supposed to be able to do.

Anime Jiren turned into a contradictory little bitch. I hope the manga doesn't go down that route. I'm not particularly interested in Jiren, but at least Toyotaro gave him a little backstory before the ToP.

I thought AT's draft for the ToP was really vague and didn't contain anything for Jiren, so the anime staff made it all up? Toyotaro will probably not go down that road.

It absolutely suck. Krillin, Tien and Hit were treated like Jabroni, Ribrianne and the others were eliminated too quickly. The anime handled them a lot better IMO.

They were treat as jabronis in the anime as well, Kuririn getting beat with an off-guard attack that #18 could've done something against and Tenshithands dropping his guard despite decades of battle experience. At least the latter was stomped in a direct fight against an established character rather than being taken out with a forgettable jobber.

Ribrianne and the others were eliminated too quickly.
She was one of the most annoying characters in the ToP's anime, preaching about love and beauty in every appearance, so good riddance. I'd rather see characters get eliminated quickly and present the situation as a battle royale where one wrong move means defeat rather than it taking a dozen chapters/episodes for someone to get eliminated because everyone was holding back.

But still they got their moments with Krillin exception] and weren't treated like jabronis and managed to eliminate other fighters as well. They were able to hang because of their experience and skills which is why they were in the tournament in the first place and Toyo didn't even bothered why they were other than to fill up the group. Android 18 fight Ribrianne was a lot better and showed her what a true love is in the anime. Ribrianne was treated like a big deal once she powered up at the end unlike her manga version which is absolutely suck.

It also makes things seem less biased. There's a clear double-standard in the anime of treating characters who fight U7 as villainous even if this wasn't so beforehand, or scarcely giving them a victory that wasn't through some off-guard means. If you provide too much shine to the Universe 7 cast, it makes their opponents feel far less like characters than they were already, being reduced to a simple victory for the main cast. At least the manga stays consistent in how these minor characters are portrayed.

Both were via resolve asspulls.

But here's the problem. Why would U7s weaker fighters have multiple eliminations while much stronger fighters from other universes have none?
That's besides the premise of a "everyone vs everyone" fight (with lots of chances for surprise attacks) being broken because it's suddenly turned into "everyone vs U7, but only one or two at a time".
