Yeah, it was probably going to go the way of Bleach even if it did gain popularity. It's seriously pathetic though for a series that got constantly paired-up with One-Piece (& DragonBall to an extent) to not even get its own video-game (when the series is tailor-made for a fighting game).
There were a few video games, though they were all adventure games rather than fighting games and none were released outside of Japan.

I'm more surprised that given the nature of the show, they didn't milk the merchandising through cooking utensils or meals inspired by those in the series, especially considering how much DB and OP are milked in the food industry (eg. Both being used to advertise KFC a few years ago).

I didn't know that it did. Although I guess they didn't do too well considering I never heard of them. Well maybe they did.

Toriko not being used for that despite it being the most logical choice just shows how much of a failure the series was. Funny how Assasination Classroom and My Hero Academia were more successful despite none of the benefits/favouritism that Toriko got.

I wouldn't say that's strictly true. Ass Class and MHA definitely had more of a benefit when it came to international sales and both had the marketing advantage of being what an average manga fan wants (losers going from zero to hero in an empowerment fantasy), which tends to be more relatable to the modern audience than manly meng doing manly things.

They also had the advantage of coming out in an era not surrounded by peers that were giants of the industry aside from One Piece. Toriko began in an era were Naruto and Bleach still held high popularity and the former's finale caused its sales to shoot up in 2014. Assassination Classroom started around the time Naruto was reaching its climax and Bleach's popularity was dead and had the benefit of not being a battle Shonen (at least not strictly), thus allowing it to stand out from the Big 3. MHA began in an age when Naruto's main manga had ended and Bleach had fully burnt out, leaving One Piece as the only major success still running in Jump (bar Hiatus X Hiatus, which isn't taken into account for obvious reasons). In other words, they had the advantage of coming out during a popularity vacuum for Jump whereas Toriko had the handicap of coming out in an era where all Jump's popular series at the time were still going strong.

If Bleach still retained high popularity then how come it looked like they wanted Toriko to become a bigger series than that? It seemed what they wanted was One-Piece on-top with Naruto & Toriko.

Also does that mean had Toriko come-out today it'd have been more successful? :troll :troll :troll After-all it does seem they gave-up on Toriko after like 2013 or maybe a bit later.

That mainly started with the Toriko anime in 2011. Bleach's popularity basically started to die as a whole from 2010 and onwards.

Most likely. Probably not by a huge degree and it'd at best be popular for a few years before being forgotten, but it'd have a better chance nowadays when considering how every new seasonal anime that's just more of the same mediocrities are being hyperbolically praised by the community as anything more than that.
Then again, all it would have to set it apart from the competition in an era where DB is back with Super is the bloody and sometimes savage nature of many of the battles in the manga. Assuming the anime's adaption remained the same, it would have nothing to really hook the standard audience when offering little more than OP and Super would already, other than not needing to watch hundreds of episodes of previous material to get caught up with the story.

Around the time its pre-timeskip material in the manga ended in 2010. It was often amongst the top ten for Jump titles when it came to tankoban sales and weekly chapter votes, but after then it slowly reached the point where it was near the bottom of the Shonen barrel in popularity. It had somewhat more of a lifespan overseas due to its popularity in the USA and UK remaining strong during the early 2010s, though even then it still didn't match Naruto's popularity.
