Hmmm, okay... he recognized him as Goku, did that also was refering to base Goku...? SSJ Goku...? SSJ2 Goku...? Because Gohan has just a black hair, so it can also be confusing him with any of this forms and not one specific. Piccolo also mistook him believing he was an strong enemy even before of that.

Everyone was revived on their base form alone, also Gohan's appearance after reviving doesn't match his Ultimate self.

The principle of the form is the same as the Super Saiyan that was said by Old Kaioshin in anime and manga.

If anything, considering that the anime was mentioned on here, I think it's also valid to use, or it isn't, as well as movies?

Daizenshuu 2 and El Manga Legendario imply Gohan is in base by the whole he dosen't need Super Saiyan to beat Buu.

But Daizenshuu 10 does call it a Super Transformation:
"Gohan-type
This type is also called Ultimate Gohan. While his appearance hasn’t change very much from his normal state, his power surpasses even Super Saiya-jin 2. He’s a Saiya-jin who has achieved a super transformation different from Super Saiya-jin, which puts a large strain on one’s body."

So depends on how you take it.
I have to say that is actually an interesting information. That could be due to being a base form maximized and/or Goku stating that Gohan is that strong without being a Super Saiyan.

Chapter: 496 (DBZ 302), P7.2-3
Context: after Gohan transforms into the 'mightiest of warriors'
Goku: "It's really incredible...It's super duper...! Absolutely unbelievable...Your appearance has hardly changed...And you ain't even a Super Saiyan...Yet you have taken to su-such an extreme..."
Elder Kaioshin: "Hmph, transforming isn't good. That Super-whatever-it's-called is the wrong way [of doing things]..."

Old Kaioshin literally states that it isn’t a transformation in the quote you posted.

As far as the manga goes it's just a permanently altered base like the Saichorou power ups. It's Toriyama's forgetfulness in Super (and Toei being dumb) that led to it becoming Gohan's equivalent of SSJ3/Blue.

What's everyone thoughts on the possibility of V Jump's comparison of Buuhan and SS3 Goku being interpreted as Gohan = Goku?

It's stupid. Piccolo-Boo was implied stronger than Goku and even his previous form was outright stated to be enough to kill him and Vegeta together. Nearly every other soutce including V Jump itself during a time when Ultimate Gohan was making his comeback in the ToP, and GT's head writer openly called Ultimate Gohan from the Boo arc the ultimate fighter who surpassed SSJ3 Goku. It is just V Jump going full retard like Weekly Shonen Jump saying that Gogeta was above Vegetto in power and that Piccolo Daimao >> Kami.

It's just an unreliable source not written by the author of the manga, just like that one Daizenshuu entry that said the Metal Cooler movie took place in the 10 day wait for the CG because Dende was in it, when we know how stupid that is for a number of reasons.

That it isn't actually reliable as the V-Jump as a whole, that also have power levels that doesn't make sense by the Freeza saga with Vegeta at 250.000, Gohan at 200.000 and Krillin with 75.000, even though, Vegeta, Gohan and Krillin thought they could defeat 1st form Freeza, Buu Saga SSJ Goku being equal to his Freeza saga self SSJ or the absurds levels given to Cooler, Broly and Gogeta.

I also don't know as to why the V-Jump is still mentioned and/or used in those kind of things.

People tend to overestimate the importance of information obtained from "official" sources. Realistically we have no idea who personally wrote any of the guidebooks, and it's clear that at times their understanding of the manga is either limited or downright wrong. When external information is contradictory, I fail to see why it should have any more value than the video games.
