Seem like rivals to me. Trunks thinks Goku is great, but has no problem testing his abilities.

Okay make it >>>= or whatever the hell that left wing fascist bullshit is :king

@Q: It's a matter of whether you think Vegeta could close that gap in like...6 months or a year or whatever it was, I suppose. I feel like he at least surpassed what he did sense, considering how big he talks ("I'm at least three times what Kakorot is" or whatever). But I guess he'd have done that regardless. Still, both he and Piccolo were said to have been training pretty hard and since it's heavily suggested that Piccolo made a huge leap (to get near Vegeta), I don't have much of a problem making that leap even bigger for the sake of giving Vegeta huge one in his own right.

A year and 260 days.

And possibly, I just don't see it being necessary.

So because he tested him he's a rival? Sometimes your logic seems like tomfoolery to me.

The gap between Goku and Vegeta is massive. He has closed it surely but he can't compete yet imo.

Freeza arc

Vegeta ( Post zenkai ) 2,400,000
Goku ( Post zenkai ) 3,000,000

Trunks arc

Vegeta 3,600,000
Goku 4,500,000

It's how I see it.

Vegeta is 3x stronger than what he sensed of Goku on Namek? Whew, I wonder what he sensed then.

You fail to comprehend.

If Goku is not rivalling Trunks, what reason does he have to test if he's the real thing? He knows of Goku's feats, and should have no reason to test his combat ability. He's trying to get a grasp on Goku's power, to see if he can be of use to the future.

Vegeta sensed Goku being able to clown Freeza. What level Freeza was using is hard to guess.

Kyo, I found the line.

"Don't think you don't need us just because you became a Super Saiyan... I will beat you sooner or later..."

I don't see any correlation to Base power there.

Vegeta would also have absolutely no desire to fight Base Goku from Namek onward. So surpassing him in base would be meaningless on all terms, because he knows Goku would he holding back. It brings to mind how he felt when finding out Goku hid SSJ3. So gaining Super Saiyan is the only option Vegeta sees. My point is, the statement sounds like it makes Vegeta's base form irrelevant to the matter. So it comes across as more vague to me. He'll gain it one day and even things out.

I don't know if that directly has to indicate Vegeta drawing a line to whether or not he's currently the better man without the form.

They are all in serious shock when Base Trunks cuts everyone up. I'm not sure if Trunks is necessarily full power in Base here, nor am I sure that he is necessarily stronger than Vegeta and Piccolo.

They say "what a chi" in disbelief. They're shocked that someone could wipe out the Freeza soldiers? Also, they couldn't see the battle from that vantage point, so they were going purely on his ki.

Hmm, I think you make a good point. I don't think he has to be extravagantly stronger than Vegeta, but stronger for sure. And not just a tiny bit... Hmm... It's not absolutely necessary, but it seems to make sense.

The only thing said about base Trunks was:

"One h-huge chi suddenly appeared...and a whole lot of chis suddenly disapeared..."

And considering their shock, it seems to be shock at how powerful Trunks is.

It should be a moderate lead, yeah. I've got it decently large just because Vegeta looks like someone just gave him anal treatment.

Yea I don't see a problem with that. There should be quite a large gap between Goku and Freeza considering what was shown in the Freeza Saga.

It's quite possible this is the correct chain...

Freeza ( Serious ) > Goku ( All Out ) > Freeza ( A Little Serious ) >= Goku ( Warm Up ) > Freeza ( Initial ) >= Vegeta

As of now, I believe this is the correct chain. It's a difficult situation, but if their is no Kaioken, this would be the correct chain imo.
