On Namek, Vegeta gets a sensu bean from Goku and is able to keep up with the battle, despite the Ginyu Force being incapable of doing so. Vegeta is still in awe of Goku's power, and seems to imply that Goku's full power might be even more than what he's showing I believe.

How strong is Vegeta initially?

He's gotta be somewhere between 40k and 60k, I'd assume he's 50k for starters.

Probably in the high 40s directly after. He needs to be weak enough to respect Goku's 65,000 burst battle power. Not long after he realized his zenkai was no ordinary increase and that he was still rising.

Also do keep in mind that Vegeta knows that Goku can multiply his power at will.

I have him at 48k initially. He can keep up with Goku’s bursts, but needs a lot of focus for that. Goku also says he should beat Jeice.

I think he realizes Goku has more than 65k because he says something like, "The power is takes to do that..."

Honestly, I feel like Vegeta never got this idea in his head enough. Shouldn't he assume that Ginyu can't match a multiplied Goku?

I think that was poor wording/translation, like how Dabra is “stronger” because of magic. What does power have anything to do with Ki control? There are guys stronger than Goku who can’t do that.

After Earth I think Vegeta is smart enough to never take what he’s reading/sensing for granted, but he probably doesn’t know the full extent of Goku’s power. How could he?

I think it implies Goku's burst power isn't his full power.

I think it's written in that way, Vegeta not thinking of Kaioken and Freeza Force never thinking about Oozaru Vegeta.

It would kind of make sense though. Goku displayed something around 60k by estimates. Vegeta probably doesn't know the exact extent of Ginyu's power but is still confident that him and Goku are about equal.

Shouldn't Vegeta know everyone's exact powers? Surely they have been rated before and surely everyone talks about power level in the Freeza Force.

Ginyu literally says that he's never been forced to use his full power.



Not to mention Vegeta made no mention of Ginyu having more power in the tank when the Ginyu Force landed on Namek. It was immediately established that Ginyu was stronger than the rest, but it evidently wasn't anywhere near his full power.

Goku definitely powers up because Goku is able to match Ginyu blow for blow.

Ginyu's Estimate for Goku's FP > Ginyu/Goku Powered Up > Ginyu/Goku Initial > Ginyu's Original Estimate for Goku = 60,000

You mean 60,000 for estimated Goku? Yeah that looks cool. I usually go with 75k for powered up Goku and Ginyu but that works.

Vegeta wasn't factoring in Kaio-ken when speaking of Goku's power, so he'd have to be at best mid-50k to still respect Goku's ~60k power while being above the Ginyu TOKUSENTAI's 40k.
