Was South Kaioshin a beast?

He was strong enough for Boo to consider absorbing him, with East Kaioshin being unable to fathom how that could have happened. His power increased exponentially to where he's stronger than even normal Evil Boo. Surely he's far better than what we give him credit for.

I'd agree to that. It's not as if every Kaioshin were known to have attempted removing the Z-Sword and the quality of Beerus' Ki may have made it difficult for those of similar Ki quality like the Kaioshin to remove it. Super seems to definitely debunk the idea of all Kaioshin being below SSJ Gohan tier too.

Either you go with South<SSJ Gohan and him being absorbed somehow multiplying Buu's strength or with South~Kid and the sword being pulled out being something decided by fate, like in case of Excalibur.

Sadly you only have to be Frieza level to be a beast in Z canon. But to be fair, of Dabura stood no chance against Fat Buu South is definetely between those two.
