Or more like a distant Z fighter? If he were more like an anti-hero, at which point he was fully a Z fighter to you?
-Didn't bother to save Bulma and Present Trunks from Dr Gero.
-Killed a trucker while fighting Eighteen.
-Essentially killed Eighteen when he let Cell absorb her.
Pretty sure he's still a villain.

Vegeta was still a villain. He did not care if his son would die and said some vulgar things to Android 18 during their fight showing he perhaps had an intense dislike of women too. Vegeta was a virgin for a very long time. He only had Raditz and Nappa plus Frieza and his soldiers. He didn't have sex. This changed in the later Android arc once he realised Trunks was his son. In the Buu arc he loved his son and showed that in his own way even when he was completely evil under Babidi's control but because he was constantly having sex for 7 years his hatred of women vanished.

Not really. Cell Saga Vegeta is him at his most obnoxious. I think Vegeta serves as far more of an anti-hero on Namek because even though he's a villain we get glimpses into his tragic upbringing, where he then acts smart and makes good decisions that serve both himself and the other Z fighters. In the Cell Saga he's far more self serving and sort of gets what's coming to him because of his arrogance. He's always arrogant sure but at least on Namek he wasn't blinded by it.
On Namek he goaded Freeza into transforming tho
