Was Vegeta's decision against 19 foolish?

I mean, he did risk all that power loss for confirming the androids could absorb energy from their palms, and would be fucked if 20 had stood its ground. He also should presumably think that's the likely thing (that they absorb from their hands) based on Goku having his KMHMH absorbed.

Shouldn’t he have been able to tell by assessing 19pre and post? It makes me wonder if 19 really did increase his energy level all that much after absorbing Goku’s power. But yea it definitely wasn’t the smartest thing to do, but he did know there were senzu beans in reserve if he needed one.

He basically bets the whole strategy on being able to punk out 19, who he really didn't have much intel on. Piccolo confirms it as being something of a master stroke, so that's all we have to go on. Considering Piccolo and the others might have been enough to take on Gero should Vegeta have failed, the risk would have probably been minimal besides an ass kicking for the prince.

I think he let 19 absorb his energy more out of spite than to see if they really could absorb energy. Granted he said he wanted to know if that was true, but 19 literally absorbed a Kamehameha from Goku.

I think it was a good plan (it worked after all), but it wasn’t really needed. He could’ve just destroyed 19 and then annihilated 20.

An ass kicking for Vegeta means more power for 20 though. I’m not sure if Piccolo and co. could beat
