Well, at least we can say THIS about JoJo's Bizarre Adve

It's a shonen that isn't afraid to kill off the heroes. For anyone that's been keeping up weekly with Stardust Crusaders, Kakyoin and Joseph were just slaughtered by Dio. I'm upset about Joseph because he's a total badass, but that's what makes it good!

Honestly, for as good as Dragon Ball was, it would've been so much better if the characters actually stayed dead. The Dragon Balls and Whis should've never even existed.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure actually has several parts. Stardust Crusaders is the 3rd part, which is one of the worst points in the series after Part 5. Funny thing is, they're the most popular parts.

You might want to read the Manga from Part 1 to Part 8, the current Jojo Part. It is an Otaku Manga, though. I finished Part 2 a while back because from what I hear, Part 3 is quite dull.

Oh I've been watching for awhile; I've seen everything from Dio arriving at the Joestar estate all the way up to Stardust Crusaders.

And I agree Part 3 isn't that great. The buildup to Dio is some of the best I've seen in anime, though.

I take it you don't know the ending of this part then?

It's not surprising when you take into account the first 3 parts were heavily inspired in story and art by the series Hokuto no Ken, which is notable for being a Shonen that constantly killed off the main characters, to the point that by the end, only 4 of the near two-dozen relevant cast members survived.

<div class='spoiler_toggle'>Major spoiler on later parts</div><div class="spoiler" style="display:none;">Araki even takes things a lot further in the later arcs, to the point that all the main cast other than Emporio are killed off in part 6.</div><hr />

Part 3 isn't dull, but is mediocore in writing quality due to the simplistic, near-episodic set up of it's story. Apart from that, it was actually quite entertaining due to the comedy presented in it, along with some of the minor villains having very interesting or broken Stands (Death 13, Osiris, etc.). Most of the minions, whilst generic in personality, did have a lot of originality in design as well, ranging from an intelligent Orangutan to an evil Baby.
