What did you hope for from Super, back when it was announced in 2015?

When they introduced multiple universes in Battle of the Gods, I was hoping to see Goku and Vegeta embark on adventures similar to the pre-Z days, with more focus on exploration and characters.

I hopped Vegeta would be the hero.

I hoped that it'd suck less than GT and Episode of Bardock.

There was little to hope for when the anime/manga had already provided catharsis for most of its characters, leaving further development of the main cast a daunting task to accomplish, and there'd obviously be little to no stakes in the plot when the End of Z already made it apparent no permanent repercussions would come to the main characters. I guess I would've hoped for more than just Goku and Vegeta taking the spotlight regularly in a non-contrived manner or some decent exploration of more minor or new characters, none of which was delivered on.

At the very least, I hoped for it to have less plot holes than GT, yet that quickly became apparent to be a pipedream.

Exactly. They failed in every way imaginable. Every issue GT created Super worsened and only proved that every argument between fans ever was in vain.

I was hoping they would have actually fleshed out the other universes mentioned in BoG. Like why would Whis mention them all at the end of the film if AT/Toyo never intended to bring them into focus? The ToP was the closest we got to seeing the other universes, but it just shoehorned random and generic fighters into the mix who mostly lacked personality. Not only that, but we didn't even get to see all of the universes there.. I was hoping for a good mix of adventure/fighting, I guess like a hybrid of DB and Z if you will. But as CC said, the expectations were limited from the start due to Super preceding EoZ.

Has the Moro Arc been slightly in that direction? Goku and Vegeta are in the Galactic Patrol and were travelling around.
