Goku managed to arrive back in time and saved Piccolo before he died protecting Gohan? How would the events unfold from there on?

Things go pretty similarly until Vegeta is beaten, at which point it all depends on whether or not Kuririn noting Vegeta's plan to go to Namek makes the group turn their attention to stopping him. If so, they get there, Piccolo has more interaction with his roots and Nail informs him early on of Namekian fusion if it becomes necessary. With the same boost Kuririn and Gohan got from having their potential unlocked, he'd probably end up around Vegeta's 30k level, so the combined power of the group once they surprise attack Reacoom may be enough to take him down. The group would still use the Namekian Dragon Balls and likely decide to revive Chaozu and Yamcha before Vegeta arrives. The battle with Freeza goes the same until Goku is creating the Genki Dama as, without Kaio's training, Piccolo likely wouldn't be able to use the Ki transfer technique he did to have Kuririn and Gohan energise him, making his sneak attack a lot less effective. Even if he knocks Freeza away, it would be by too little to avoid being severely injured before the Genki Dama is launched. Piccolo still lasts long enough for the third wish to be made when considering the time gap between his sneak attack and Goku going SSJ didn't seem to be too long, though dies and is brought back to life with the DBs 133 days later. After that, things continue on as normal.

If Kuririn doesn't bring up Namek, however, then Vegeta is ultimately killed by Reacoom, Freeza doesn't get his wish and eventually destroys Namek. He may turn his sights to Earth due to knowing there are Saiyans there, in which case he destroys it with ease. If not, #17 and #18 awaken several years later and, being far weaker in this timeline, Gohan may not even achieve Super Saiyan, let alone survive. Assuming #17 and #18 don't destroy things at a far quicker pace, Bulma goes back in time herself and likely tracks down Gero to kill him personally or informs her past self rather than leaving it in Galu's hands, though Cell would still take her time machine and travel back in time. Once he finds out #17 and #18 don't even exist in this timeline, he'd destroy the Earth and head off into space, though likely not be able to achieve his full potential if not becoming perfect.
