What Inspired The Frieza Race?

Did Toriyama ever state as to what inspired the creation of the Frieza race? Does the first or second form of Frieza resemble any other creature from any other form of media?

3rd form was based on the alien from Alien I think.
2nd form may have been what he imagined a monster to look like as a kid. I think I read that somewhere, years ago.

Freeza himself was inspired by a queen, most likely a Mongolian one. Also a villain from Super Sentai (who was also inspired by Mongolian queens).
