What was Nappa's power level, and why?

Around 7,500 for me. He could be a little higher, but I like neat numbers.

Nappa was being completely overpowered by Goku, whom was still mocking him after he had a calm mind. His most powerful attack was repelled.

I don't see a reason to have him any higher than 4,500.

An 8,000 opponent wouldn't say it'd take forever to defeat someone barely over half his power, and Vegeta wouldn't even feel the need to mention Goku's defeat of Nappa if there were such a humongous gap. Plus, Goku says he'd be dead if he took Nappa's attack straight-on. The Weekly Jump levels were pulled out of ass just like Piccolo Daimao being 40 higher than Kami and Piccolo being 700 higher than Gohan's Masenko for basically no reason.

Goku's comment was based on Nappa's durability and how strong his mouth blast was, little did he know, it was all Nappa had. Vegeta calls him down because he knows this.

And yet Nappa's durability didn't save him from being stunned by Piccolo's blast or by Gohan's 2800 Masenko despite knocking it away k

Vegeta calls him down because there's no way he can defeat Goku. That isn't somehow implying close to a 2x difference, not to mention Goku didn't "little did he know" anything. He heard from Nappa that was his ultimate attack.

Your argument has no room to stand when Ginyu believes Goku could've danced circles around 3 people far stronger than Vegeta's 30,000 at only 60,000, and Reacoom's shown great durability as well. 1

No ammount of durability can make Nappa trade blows evenly with someone 2x stronger, faster, more versatile, and 2000 other things.

Even after sensing Goku's 5k power, Krillin said the power of Nappa and Vegeta were beyond imagination. If his Chi was already higher than Nappa's, he would've knew. Nappa did the majority of the fighting, after all.

The 4k level just doesn't make any sense.

I think the weekly shonen jump writers based that off of how badly Goku was tooling Nappa after powering up to 8,000, without considering any of Vegeta's statements and that Goku's only feat before going full power was dodging one punch from Nappa.

Talking about 50% Freeza? He said he was attacking Goku enough to not kill him. I can post the statements if you wish.

Isn't it a little ironic to call people's interpretations of fights "fan speculation" when you make several threads a day posting new things you noticed in the Boo arc

I mean, if Nappa is only 4k, then there would be no reason for Goku to believe the mouth blast would've fucked him up had he not stopped it. Most people that have him that low don't believe the Saiyans can amplify their power.

Earlier, Goku thought Nappa's blast was so weak that all he needed was a kiai. Either Nappa got a lot stronger when he calmed down, or his mouth blast was obviously an amplified attack that went beyond his normal power. There's no other way around it. And Goku looked right at Nappa before he opened his mouth, so he wasn't off-guard.

Anyway, Krillin's quote tells me 5k Goku is still less than Nappa. Vegeta doesn't even think Goku can handle Nappa when he first arrives and makes a joke about it. He seemed to be more on edge when Goku's power was slowly rising, but Nappa was only outclassed after Goku powered-up.

Even the amplification argument doesn't make much sense to me when Goku knocked away Jheese's amplified Crasher Ball with ease, and he's way higher ranked than Nappa while Goku wasn't putting out anything close to 85K at that point. It's all bunk perpetuated by the Jump levels in my opinion.

Yeah, it really doesn't make any sense. I suppose that's better than people believing Goku was in danger by an attack that was literally half of his power, though. I've seen some people seriously think the attack was that low because Goku only did an uncharged Kamehameha, which doesn't make sense because that's still the equivalent of Goku's power. A charged Kamehameha would obviously be above his normal power.

By the reasons stated above, Nappa's 4,000 power level doesn't make much sense.

I have him at 7,500.

Yeah, the 7000 vicinity is where I generally had him at. It'd just be freaking weird for Vegeta's tagalong Nappa to be able to use amplification higher than the Ginyu Force simply for the sake of that bunk 4000 power stated in a WSJ entry Toriyama didn't even approve of until it entered the Daizenshuu.
