That's why he can't even take his armour off between forms without shattering the whole thing - he doesn't know how to unfasten it and pull it over his head. That's also why he's naked. And it's why he doesn't fight with his hands - he's committed to never touching an opponent with his hands, just like nobody but King Cold laid a hand on him.
