What would have happened if Pilaf had wished to rule the world in BoGT and Goku had not become a child?

Then Goku will just have to defeat him, it's not like Pilaf will be unstoppable once he got his wish. :idk

Shenlong does have brainwashing abilities, as shown when he erased Buu from people's
memories. Therefore, everybody on the planet would have been brainwashed, except
Goku and the other ones who are stronger than Kami.
Bulma refuses to make them a spaceship to go look for dragonballs, since she's now
brainwashed and only obeys to Pilaf. Eventually, Pilaf is convinced by Z fighters about
how urgent the situation is, so he commands Bulma to build the spaceship.
The rest of GT continues as we know it, with the Z fighters fighting the villains (Baby,
17 etc), except Pilaf remains ruler of the world, even though he's ruler in name only,
for the non brainwashed Z fighters can always set him straight if he turns
tyrannical.
Dunno, was that accurate? What do you guys think? Discuss.

Assuming Pilaf's world control is as absolute as he envisions it, then withheld summed it up pretty accurately. However, it'd cause major changes in the Baby Arc. Considering it'd take a little longer to convince Pilaf, they may not be able to save everyone when the world gets destroyed due to running out of time, but other than that, things proceed as usual. Pilaf would likely be killed once Baby took control, though.

If it were to just lump Pilaf into a position of power though, nothing changes other than that one of the supporting cast puts Pilaf in his place whilst the trio go to space.

You know, the "world domination" wish doesn't make any sense. What would happen? Would everyone suddenly think that Pilaf was their ruler? That's a form of mind control, probably exceeding Shenlong's power. So would he have a big kingdom? That's akin to asking for a castle. Would his face suddenly appear on every magazine, flag, etc.? I feel like this wish is so broad and has so many layers to it (including brainwashing) that it would be beyond Shenlong's power.

Man, that would be hilarious. Imagine that Super is coming to an end and the last scene is Pilaf gathering the Dragon Balls. He, Shu, and Mai are standing there teary-eyed that their decades-long journey is at-hand. They're just so happy they can't contain themselves. Pilaf summons Shenlong and Shenlong asks him to speak his wish. With tears in his eyes and a giant smile, Pilaf requests world domination. There's a humming noise, wind gusting about them. And then finally Shenlong speaks... "That wish exceeds my power." And Pilaf is just frozen. Meanwhile, Shu and Mai wish for something stupid for themselves like a bone for Shu and a hairbrush for Mai and the Dragon Balls disperse as Pilaf is still standing there frozen. Shu and Mai look thrilled with themselves as Pilaf collapses and we fade to black.

Best. Ending. Ever.

But going back to the original post, Goku would probably defeat Pilaf and now as an adult would have to go off into space to get the Dragon Balls so that Earth doesn't blow up. He might just kill Baby in space.

Pilaf could easily rule the world as the Z fighters are pretty much indifferent to politics and crime. Now if Pilaf wished for a planet busting cannon then they'd do something about it.

Pilaf being ruler of the world, does not imply that it is a threat. Even Yayirobe could end Pilaf and his government.

Goku would be an adult, he would take his fighting more seriously. The problem would be that Goku would not recover its tail, therefore it would not obtain its state Ohzaru, nor Golden Ohzaru, nor SSJ4.

Nothing, really. The only problem his child body had was that SS3's stamina drain was even greater prior to regaining his tail.

Oh that wacky "Sone Gokuu," he's so silly. But yeah, the adventure into space would be the same, except as an adult, he'd probably wipe out Baby. No Super Saiyan 4, really. But then, Super 17 would still happen and I'm sure they'd defeat Super 17, but the evil Shenlongs would be a problem.

I don't see why Baby's fate would be any different. At no point was it stated that becoming a child made Goku weaker, only that he couldn't maintain SS3 for long.
The absence of Baby also means Super #17 kills everybody. Without SS4, there'd be little way for the cast to do anything against him unless they learn of his weak point, which they likely wouldn't get a chance to exploit in this scenario.

I feel like he did say at some point that he was weaker than his adult self. Oh well.

That was probably just a dub thing, since the Japanese version provides no such statement.
