Currently reading Trillion Game and Shinjuku Swan. Trillion Game is only translated to chapter 30 for some reason but it's a good story so far. Pretty unrealistic but entertaining nonetheless. Shinjuku Swan is also solid, has pretty nice art for the most part. It's a little more realistic and covers some darker aspects of Japanese entertainment.

These both have a live-action.

Nah, just looked it up. Trillion Game's series has good reviews on imdb and elsewhere. The other one...not so much lol.

I've read all of the ones listed except for The Three Times and Ties of Compassion. I'd pick The Three Times since it's about uni, I'm in uni so I kinda want to read stories about uni stuff, the one I read recently left me down, was expecting something more serious — it's All Blue — the manga has a nice ending, an interesting one and in general a nice criticism of harmful stereotypes, some moments had their place, like, were meaningful to an extent, some jokes were funny, some others were not since it's degeneracy level jokes (tho it makes part of the general criticism, tho they still overdo harping on some weird issues imo) and it's more like not what I wanted, something that can have humor but that would be more centered in uni students struggles, mentalities, feelings irl that carry on to uni time, etc...

You read everything in this topic? Holy smokes (PS don't smoke). Which one is All Blue? I can't find it on google.

Uni ones I've read are Welcome to Room 305 and...that's it. Honey and Clover is another one though (I watched the anime). Ones I'm aware of are Cheese in the Trap. Silver Spoon. Romance 101. Tatami Galaxy. Tribology. Dream of Learning. Skip and Loafer is a great school one, not university but it's about fitting in in school, making friends, studying - that kind of thing and without the typical shounen non-realism.

Oh haha. I got the threads mixed up. I saw the one you posted about "pick one manga from my MAL for me to read" and I had still read as "pick one from my MAL to read", like, "which would we choose"?. Woops.

The ones about Uni you've read are cool? Btw, it's kinda tough to find one that is pretty realistic. Like, ofc they won't be so realistic since stories delve into imagination/unlike scenarios/scenarios that would likely happen in more extreme situations etc. that are slice of life since they are all plausible and represent life situations but when the situation is wrapped a little to fit a story. I'd like one that's closer still to a irl thing, tho with its out things as well, but not likely to be found.

Honey and clover was alright (watched it maybe 12 years ago), it feels realistic in a mundane way. It's largely romance too though. Silver spoon I've heard good about. Welcome to room 305 was very funny but it's not about general university - it's more a gag manga about living at university and lgbt. The author made it to educate about lgbt and clear misconceptions, for a korean audience.
So you've read all 300+ on my plan to read? What. Are you sure?
Three Times is pretty decent (I stopped reading way back due to lack of translation) it was more about university and being Korean-Japanese, since iirc the MC is mixed or grew up in Japan (Zainichi I guess) but studies in Korea.

Nah, like I said, I thought it was all within the Shuzo Oshimi mangas you had listed, to which I hadn't really only 2 from the ones you had posted.

Sorry, I was mumbling again and didn't make it so clear. I'm fine, just somewhat tired hehe.

Idk... What kind of manga are you more willing to dive in? I'd recommend Kingdom, which goes way beyond "simply" the way it may appear in the descriptions — a war encompassing of many battles for the unification of China — not that it's a simple theme at all, but you may think it may delve into some cliches of shounens, but it's very philosophical, many power and plannings at display, to the point it's as unstoppable to read as the game of thrones books when they get into the climax... And there are very charismatic and interesting characters that shape it into one of the best stories. Though it's discouraging due to the length (800+ chapters), plus, the start is kinda lame... But after the first arc, it gets progressively better. And what many people call the peak — around chapter 150, I see it as totally differently, as I see it just getting better. The first 400 chapters are really good and the "last" 400 (until 800) are pretty much a masterpiece imo.

If you haven't read this one from Oshimi (can't remember if it appeared in your list anymore), then I'd recommend that Net's Cafe or something like this * checking name for accuracy * — Drifting Net Cafe. It's has a nice concept, like, it went into an off reality and it was pretty grounded in regards to what Oshimi does the best imo, displaying human emotions, when sometimes different traits of someone's personality kicks in based on the time, circumstances, etc...
