What's the deeper meaning of this cover?

In the cover of the 25th volume of the manga, we see SSJ3 Goku being about to fire a blast, along with SSJ3 Gotenks and Mystic Gohan.

Doesn't that look symbolic? Doesn't it indicate that AT treated Goku as somewhat relevant in power to those two?

That’s one half of a Weekly-Shounen-Jump cover by Akira Toriyama (front half). In that he is against the lowest Boo and I think it’s obviously meant to be a family thing, but Goten can’t win on his own so they placed Gotenks there instead.

As for the tankobon, it's Volume 25 of DBZ (Volume 41 overall). It's the volume where Gotenks and then Gohan fight Buu, followed by SSJ3 Goku. Those are the three who fight Buu in that volume , which is why they're shown there.


Vegito doesn't appear until Volume 26. Putting him on the cover would make no sense because he's not in the volume and it would be a big spoiler.
