What's up with Gohan saying he's the best at speed (Buu Saga)?

Carlton Banks is the best at speed.

In chapter 462, page 9, Gohan says something like "in terms of speed, I'm the best". The fuck? Does he think his speed is better, relative to Vegeta/Goku, than his attack power?

Seemed reasonable to assume Buu was slow because he was fat. But Piccolo... Maybe his weight training makes him faster than his power level? But not by much, since he still praises 17's speed. Guess he just assumed Freeza's head was too heavy

The whole thing with Piccolo is that his plan made no sense. What the fuck was he going to do by flying away from Freeza? One of the smartest characters in the series looked like a complete inbred there.

He probably assumed Freeza's transformation was one that only increased power like the Super Saiyan grade forms, since it increased Freeza's size considerably. Maybe he was gonna try to have Kuririn blind him with Taiyoken and then nail him with a Makankasappo. Of course, Freeza proved he was faster immediately afterwards so I guess we'll never know what his plan was.
