During the Android saga, Goku mentions that he's trained in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber once before, when he was young. Was this during Dragonball?
@PapasmurfBetween the King Piccolo and Ma Junior arcs. It's just a retcon though. Guy shouldn't even have been able to last 2 days in there much less a month.
I don't do power levels anymore but that sounds about right.@Papasmurf
By any chance, how powerful were Goku and Vegeta SSJ at the time they discovered the Grado forms?
On both occasions, they had spent two months training at Rosat.
I believe that at that time, in SSJ, they were more powerful than Androids 17 and 18, but inferior to Android 16.
What do you think?
Considering that Baby Goku can survive 10x gravity I see no reason why a well trained Kid Goku couldn't survive a month.Between the King Piccolo and Ma Junior arcs. It's just a retcon though. Guy shouldn't even have been able to last 2 days in there much less a month.
Seems unlikely for them to surpass the Androids in just a few months, remember, they are pretty much tapped out. Regular Super Saiyan training won't be enough to surpass the Androids and Cell, they are already at their limits. More or less at least.I believe that at that time, in SSJ, they were more powerful than Androids 17 and 18, but inferior to Android 16.

An adult Goku could hardly move in 10x gravity, and he displayed greater speed even while weighted even as a young adult, much less as a father. If Goku just lied in a crib the whole time as he did as an infant I would agree with you, plus even MSSJ Goku admitted due to the other harsh conditions as well as gravity, it was painful just to stay in the Rosat much less train there.Considering that Baby Goku can survive 10x gravity I see no reason why a well trained Kid Goku couldn't survive a month.
I think the fact that 10 months after he unlocked Grade 2 Vegeta's regular SSJ was already on Semi Perfect tier shows to me that they were only tapped out on earthly training method gains. Stuff like Rosat and Z sword training just seem to give gains on a new level.@Papasmurf

I also think the same: if the Saiyans had trained in SSJ on Earth, they would have made very small gains, but by training in the Rosat, they made huge gains, and by reaching Grade 2, they were able to increase their power even faster.I think the fact that 10 months after he unlocked Grade 2 Vegeta's regular SSJ was already on Semi Perfect tier shows to me that they were only tapped out on earthly training method gains. He moved just fine from what I recall. His weights is what effected him so much.An adult Goku could hardly move in 10x gravity,
Many Saiyans who are far younger than Goku and far weaker handle the 10x gravity just fine.If Goku just lied in a crib the whole time as he did as an infant I would agree with you, plus even MSSJ Goku admitted due to the other harsh conditions as well as gravity, it was painful just to stay in the Rosat much less train there.

How strong would Future Gohan have been if he had trained in the Rosat? Without achieving any transformation beyond SSJ.
So how come the Saiyans don’t wear masks that restrict their breathing while they train on Earth and train in the gravity chamber? There was much less oxygen at Rosat, and the force of gravity was greater. Training in a new place always has benefits.
The benefit would be that they train with greater gravity and in more difficult conditions. The combination of both gives them greater gains. What is special about the RoSaT?
The 10x gravity.
Harsh conditions.
You can train a year in a day.
There's nothing special about the RoSaT other than the time.
They can already train on Earth with better gravity than the RoSaT if they choose. The benefit would be that they train with greater gravity and in more difficult conditions. The combination of both gives them greater gains.
Gohan still had a lot of untapped potential the adults didn’t. Goku could have had Gohan train in 10x gravity for the 3 years but he chose not to.Anyway, Gohan had never trained with 10x gravity before. It was great training for Gohan to be in the Rosat, and even after two months, Goku SSJ was still superior to Gohan SSJ.
No chance. If they could improve at that rate they’d never need to ascend.I think in the first two months, Vegeta, Goku, and Future Trunks doubled their power,
Well, they knew Cell was going to be much more powerful than the Androids. Maybe the SSJs didn't double their power, but I'm not ruling out the possibility that they increased their power.Gohan still had a lot of untapped potential the adults didn’t. The real gains happened after the ascension.
Even with his weights he possessed speed far above his pre-23rd incarnation, so a vastly weaker Goku who's barely faster than even Piccolo Daimao being able to handle 10x gravity seems like a stretch. He moved just fine from what I recall. His weights is what effected him so much.
Many Saiyans who are far younger than Goku and far weaker handle the 10x gravity just fine.
It's the only place that has the rougher air and rapidly fluctuating temperature, which Bulma's machines don't seem to be able to replicate. King Kai said training on his planet for 5 months is equivalent to training on Earth for thousands of years because of the gravity alone, so having harsh living conditions as icing on the cake makes it that much more effective. For whatever reason, it seems to make the training more effective than gravity training considering that Vegeta's gains through the 7 years post-Cell in a high gravity environment weren't greater than Goku's from afterlife training for the same amount of time (excluding SSJ3, which I think Goku only attained at a lower power level than Gotenks or Daima Vegeta only because of infinite afterlife Ki).What is special about the RoSaT?
