Frieza's characterization has been handled so much better during the ToP arc than it was during RoF. People probably didn't want to see him back again since they thought he'd be handled the same way he was during the RoF arc.

I think a lot of fans were understandably upset that they decided to shoehorn Freeza in again, I was a bit. But that doesn't change the fact that I love Freeza, and his Japanese VA is great.

I was one of the fans that were pissed about it as well since it was BOO who was replaced instead of Tienshinhan and one thing I learned from this rumor is to see how it plays rather than bitch about it.
