Agreed with the others. No point wasting time playing DA here. Vegeta wasn't doing damage despite trying his damndest, despite a pseudo-Big Bang Attack hitting head-on, despite being on a mission to prove he was the Karate Kid. He had no chance, regardless of stamina issues.
Trunks, on the other hand, said he could do fairly well against both androids simultaneously. By logic, he would do even better against a single android. Thus, by even heartier logic, the gap between he and Future #18 factually cannot be larger than the gap between Vegeta and Presentable #18.

It seems weird to me that Trunks is so shocked with how Vegeta was fighting 18, and at that point he thought future = present. Would he be shocked if Vegeta was putting up worse of a fight than he could against the future Androids?

I'll say Vegeta/Present 18. Present timeline androids are stronger than the Future Androids, there isn't that big a difference between Trunks and Vegeta during the Android Saga so I'll go with Vegeta/Android 18.
