Who are "Vegeta and the others"?

Validity of that statement aside, what does it even mean?

Probably Vegeta and pre-Ultimate Gohan. Can't think of any other ally who's relevant, and if the statement was to encompass Goku (which it clearly is trying not to) it'd say Goku-tachi rather than specify Vegeta.

It's ambiguous. The only certain thing is that it's excluding Goku, as Vegeta is referenced as the most important person instead of him.

Since Vegeta is inferred to be the strongest one, I take it to mean that Gotenks only surpassed Vegeta once he entered the Rosat. To reconcile it with what we are told of Gotenks being the strongest and having the power to beat Buu, I figure the Daizenshuu was referencing Base Gotenks specifically. So Base Gotenks is stronger than SSJ2 Vegeta after his training in the Rosat.

That’s what I like to think too, but “the others” also extends to Base Gotenks not being stronger than Gohan too at least.

Maybe Gotenks surpassed Vegeta and the others in number of forms?
