Who is the most overhype in the series?

I don't see him being overhype at all except that he was hyped to beat Boo that's all unlike Beerus and Freeza were stated to be the strongest ever!

Gotenks has no concrete evidence to suggest he was made out to be what he was supposed to be. Akira Toriyama has disagreed with that notion by depicting Goku as the strongest.

Beerus stated in BoG that there were more powerful beings then him. I don't see an issue here.

Are we talking as a fandom or in the series itself?

Because in the series it's Chou gohan. Look at how long that was built up compared to how successful he was. There was buildup for that practically from when he goes to the kaoshin world, all they way through the buu fights with gotenks, and then he gets absorbed.

Fandom it's got to be the potora fusion. Nothing is taken farther beyond what it's actually stated to do.

Toriyama's writing ability (and on occasion his memory of the series) is definitely among the most overhyped. When you produce something as absurd and unstructured as FNF you can no longer call yourself much of a writer. That and FNF and the previous movie pretty much sold as well as they did because he was involved, despite being fairly poor.

Nobody in GT or Dragonball Z were shown to have come anything close tot he Gods of Destruction, not even remotely close. They're definitely within their own league are not over-hyped in the least.

In series I'd say Gotenks. He hasn't ever actually accomplished anything despite his hype.

Morality: Goku [a complete and total clueless guy]

Strength: Gogeta [strong, but not nearly as strong as fanboys would like you to think]

Importance: Tenshinhan [overall fairly irrelevant; could be yanked out of the story and little to nothing would change]

Intelligence: Piccolo [is, at best, of average intelligence, and does a LOT of questionable actions]

Gotenks has to be regarded as the most over-hyped in the entire series. No supporting evidence concludes that he's so powerful and all further films and series contradict the analogy that fans come to.

Me thinks they're completely wrong.
