Why can't SSJ Goku/Gohan/Goten ride the Nimbus?

Why? He's not pure of heart, but in what way?

Found out that the first Nimbus died. Feel violated by the English dub. I built all these memories of Nimbus #1 but it's a lie.

Is there any reason to believe they can't? I'd presume they wouldn't bother because a Super Saiyan would be much faster.

I thought it was known they can't, but it turns out it's a fan assumption.

I think the main reason it's believed is because in Movie 7 Goku had to absorb the Genki Dama due to having an impure heart and we know a pure heart is needed to ride a Nimbus. Sticking to the manga, Goku stayed Base when making the Genki Dama versus Kid Buu, even though it would make sense to stay in SSJ1 if possible, since he'd be slightly less vulnerable and MSSJ shouldn't make him any more tired than being in Base would, so he went to Base because he thought SSJ might be too impure to make and reliably hold a Genki Dama.

Plus Krillin can't ride the Nimbus but can rebound the Genki Dama. So the Nimbus might have stricter purity requirements than the Genki Dama, or it could be that they require different types of purity. If the Nimbus has stricter requirements, then SSJ Goku not being able to make a GD means he can't ride the Nimbus.

Gohan rebounded the Genki-Dama, Kuririn just had the energy given to him by Goku. I think Super made it canon SSJs can’t make Genki-Damas.

I think MSSJs can definitely ride the Nimbus since they’re just like the base forms. Grade 1 SSJs and SSJ2 and 3 probably can’t though. Maybe SSJG could. Not sure about Blue since it’s supposed to be the most tranquil form, but it can’t even make a Genki-Dama…

Ah. He gave him the energy and told him to throw it? Still must require a certain level of soul purity.

If MSSJ is just like Base, why do you think Goku can't make a Genki-Dama as a MSSJ? And if he can't make a Genki-Dama, shouldn't he be unable to ride a Nimbus too?

I guess making a Genki-Dama is different from just giving it from someone else.

I don’t remember the specific wording with the Nimbus, but with the Genki-Dama it’s said Goku can’t have any maliciousness on his heart. Kuririn can have just enough to hold and fire, but not make one.
