Why did Beerus have any interest fighting the SSJG?

Sure it made sense in BoG where we knew nothing of the other universes, as well as SSJG Goku being strong enough to push Beerus to using 70% of his power. However, now it doesn't make any sense. Why would Beerus have any interest in fighting a weakling like SSJG Goku? Why not just go over to Universe 11 and fight Jiren?

He was probably interested on fighting someone from his own universe. While we all know that Goku is still far weaker than Beerus, the oracle fish later said that he told Beerus that Goku/Vegeta will be his rivals soon. Maybe Beerus sees something in Goku that gave him a second thought.

The Oracle Fish hyped the Super Saiyan God up to be a powerful opponent that Beerus was prophesied to fight. That's bound to strike some interest for someone who not many could hold a candle to. How could Beerus have known of guys like Jiren back then?
