Why did Universe 7 have 5 Kaioshin?

...but everywhere else seems to have just the 1.

And if each Lord of Destruction is linked to the Universe's Kaioshin... why is Beerus still around?

Did he just happen to be linked to the weakest of the flock? Is he actually linked to the Dai Kaioshin and fine unless Buu dies?

Well, either it was changed to there only being one Supreme Kai or Beerus was linked to all of them and will only die when there are no kais left

U7 has 4 Kaioshins and 3 of them died against Boo. The Eastern Kaioshin is still alive so that means the Hakaishin should be alive as well, it would take 4 Kaioshins to die in order the Hakaishin to die along the angel will cease to exist. The other universes Kaioshins are probably another just a Kaiohins or a DaiKaioshin.

We saw that Universe 6 had at least 2 Kaioshin.

I imagine it could be due to a shift in hierarchy across the eras, with the role of Kaioshin being given to fewer Shin-jin than in the era when Boo was first awoken. There was over a 5 million year gap between then and Super's current events, after all, far more than enough time for changes to be made. That, or it could be the Kaioshin we've seen from other Universes in the current arc are the Dai Kaioshin of their universe.

As for Beerus' link to Kaioshin, I imagine all of a Universe's Kaioshin need to be killed for the link to take effect, or they're sealed away like Elder Kaioshin.

5 is the normal amount I would think. East, South, West, North, and the leader.

Things probably happened in the other universes to wipe out a few Kaioshin, just like "our" universe.

I always assumed it meant all Kaioshin have to die, not just one linked to a Hakaishin.

Technically, U7 could have had 6 Kaioshin at once had old man been freed before Buu killed/absorbed the other 4.

I wonder what kinda Kaioshin old man was? A directional Kaioshin I'm guessing. May have been the former East Kaioshin before the one we know came to be.

I find it weird they have multiple Kaioshin to one Hakaishin as it is.

So the pink elephant dude is the Hakaishin from Zamasu's universe right? He definitely died when Zamasu killed Gowasu because Gowasu was the only Kaioshin left since Zamasu was an apprentice at the time.

I'm guessing DaiKaioshin is the true Kaioshin and the other 4 are merely successors but since 3 of them died, that leaves East Kaioshin as the successor by default. Yes, the Hakaishin in my universe should be dead after I killed Gowasu for a 3rd time.
