Why did Vegeta tell Nappa to kill everyone, including Piccolo?

He said it could be trouble if Goku teamed up with the others. He even specified to also kill Pikkoro, despite knowing he'd have to go to Namek to get the dragon balls (yeh he didn't know Freeza would be there, but still it's thinking super short term and impulsively unless he has good reason to think there's a genuine threat). He could've said "leave Piccolo", because surely Nappa can deal with Piccolo while Vegeta kills Kakarot.

What do you think made him think this - and was he just worried Nappa could be severely hurt, or was he worried he himself could also get hurt? Goku's PL was only 5000, but he'd have to raise it incredibly and beyond anything Vegeta saw from the other earthlings for him to even trouble Vegeta enough to need to transform.

Did the strong attacks like kienzan, kikoho, (can't remember if he'd seen masenko yet), Piccolo and Krillin teaming up to hit Nappa have him thinking Goku's 5000 could turn into a problem combined with Piccolo's PL?

Because they'd be trouble, even Piccolo only. That's what Vegeta stated. Duhhh
