Why didn't Android 18 just throw a Mighty Mask costume on Cell?

This last part of this debate is just proving that you're going out of your way to nerf the kids. "18 didn't throw a Kienzan, and Goten and Trunks wouldn't have died if it hit them."

If they were as powerful as the community implies, the suit wouldn't matter. It affected their mobility, not their durability, speed and strength. It's illogical to determine anything else.

It is heavily implied that the kids could move around, they just weren't as effective as they would be under normal conditions. That argument also does not discredit their durability, and we've had several scenarios where stronger characters utterly humiliate weaker ones. Most of these examples contain gaps that are far smaller than Android 18 would be in comparison to the suggested battle power of Goten and Trunks. Further-more, if they could also throw punches and block her shots, they would have no trouble doing so after receiving a 50x times boost from their Super Saiyan transformation. It is not even a reliable argument, it's a fuckin' cop-out at best.

For these types of illogical perspectives to be true, requires us to ignore essentially every power related gap that we have ever seen in the entire series. It's not consistent within the story and it is not even self consistent for that matter.

I'll prefer to stick to my own analysis until I see something more convincing.

I mean, Kuririn's kienzan would cut Nappa had he not dodge it and even 2nd form Freeza felt the need of dodging Kuririn's kienzan. I'm sure the difference between Nappa/Kuririn and 2nd form Freeza/Kuririn are bigger than Semi Cell/18.

On topic, by the same reason "Buff" Trunks getting 50x more powerful would not work against Cell.

OP: A better question would be why didn't they kill the final villains (Freeza, Cell, Buu) with an off guard attack. Even Blue SSJ Goku was
defeated by a plain gun when he was caught off guard.
