Why didn't Kami use the mafusa/demon containment wave on his evil twin?

If Mutaito managed it (but died) and Roshi nearly managed it, plus Kami tried it on Majunior ("let that child junior alone"), why didn't he try it on the original KP* (sorry our KP)?

*KP=King Piccolo

edit: Mafuba, not Mafusa. Mafusa is the one they can use in the next Lion King.
