I've been rethinking this the last couple of days. I analyzed the statement about SK's absorption, and it seems to me more like EK doesn't know the nature of Boo's absorption. "He somehow absorbed him" seems to mean that EK doesn't know how Boo can absorb, as it's implied that he wasn't there to witness it.
He'd already witnessed Boo absorb Gotenks, Piccolo, Gohan, and Vegetto by that point. :nice
Fuck you.

"He somehow absorbed him" implies that managing to absorb South Kaioshin is an impressive feat. This proves he's not fodder to Kid Boo imo.
So he's stronger than SSJ3 Goku?

"Not being fodder to Kid Boo" doesn't immediately equal "stronger than SSJ3 Goku". South Kaioshin could be Fat Boo tier and he wouldn't be fodder to Kid Boo.

Why would Boo absorb somebody weaker than himself if he was going around killing the other Kaioshin?

Because South Kaioshin was a threat to him?

But why would a creature with no brain deem South Kaioshin a threat but not Goku?

He might not have a 'brain"(by the way, is that stated on a guidebook?), but that doesn't mean he is completely irrational. He remembered East Kaioshin after all. And Kid Boo did think Goku was a threat, because he tried to use the Candy Beam on him.

No, I'm just saying that he's an instinctive creature due to possessing almost no ability to think.

Yes, here is Pure Boo treating Goku as a threat:

Where did he use candy beam on Goku? Further in point you can tell when Boo actually feels threatened when he is being pushed back by the Genki Dama. He never had a facial expression such as that while battling Goku. Boo was toying around the whole time, he did not appear to give a fuck about Goku.

Edit: Found the candy beam. Regardless, he doesn't appear phased when he gets completely vaporized by the KHH, so again - I don't see him treating Goku as a threat whatsoever.

There are several moments in the fight where Kid Boo has a serious facial expression when fighting Goku. He only didn't take Goku seriously at that moment because Goku was losing power due to showing off, and that's why Kid Boo started messing around.

I think South Kai is SSJ3 material, except he doesn't have the stamina drawbakcs, which made him an even greater threat
for Kid Buu, so he decided to absorb him.
I think AT just retconned Kais' power at Kid Buu saga. A good in universe explanation is Salagir's: Z sword has a protective
barrier against Kais, so that a hero from the lower realm would draw it.

Or his techniques were treat to Pure Boo just like Dai Kaioshin.
