Why didn't the saiyans use ASSJ in movie 8, movie 9 or the Hatchiyak OVA?

I don't recall Vegeta or Trunks using ASSJ against Broly, Bojack or Hatchyak. Though, it was 2013 (or '14) when I last rewatched these movies, and now it's 2025.

I think the art style is a bit ambiguous, but the common agreement is that they did use the form in Movie 8. Movie 9 and PtoS OVA, they use normal SSJ for the same reason from canon.

In PtoS/Movie 9 same reason being that MSSJ is stronger? So Vegeta and Trunks have already mastered it too? Becoz otherwise even if Vegeta/Trunks' long term goal is to master SSJ, it doesn't make sense to not use ASSJ in such a serious fight. Vegeta is pissed, if Trunks dies he probably knows Bulma won't ever know what happened to him.


Shouldn't Trunks just use USSJ against Broly? He's fighting someone who's slow like a USSJ. Might as well go full power.
