HUGE SPOILER (spoiler tags cuz topic hover preview)
The death of Ace. Rayleigh doesn't comment on it at all. Is this in character for him to not comment or maybe straight up not be bothered? Or is it bad writing?
He's just like "so you is be gone now den Whitebeard"
Did he know about Ace being his crewmate's son before Marineford was televised (did they actually broadcast the whole thing? The fuck)
Even if he didn't know until during or maybe after Marineford, does he ever comment on it?

Would he feel any emotional attachment to Ace? Whitebeard was a respected rival and friend.

Would Zoro or Sanji feel any attachment towards Luffy's kid?
After Ace died, his crewmates wanted to save Luffy, as Ace's brother.
It's less emotional attachment to Ace, but to Roger's legacy and to something Roger cared about enough to have Garp safeguard him?

What would he say though? It would come across as awkward imo.

Nothing. Even just a solemn look would have been appropriate.

Roger was like a brother to him. Why aren't we given any introspection on his thoughts or feelings that his biological son was executed at the age of 20?

I dunno, but maybe it was because Ace despised Roger and didn't recognize him as his father.

How would Ray know that? I doubt he even knew where Ace was as a child.

Wasn't the whole thing being played live with audio? Ace was saying how he only recognized WB as his father.

You'd just had the big emotional moment with Jimbe, narrativewise it would have been out of place.

But they show Dadan react to it?

They could have done it later too, when Luffy visits Ace's grave to make the announcement about meeting in two years, or when training Luffy. Rayleigh saying something to himself like "Roger your son is gone, but someone else is carrying on both of your wills".

Even with the WB part, he could've said "Roger, your son too. Sorry I didn't know sooner" or "you too Ace, son of Roger".

How does Jinbei screw it up? Fuck that fishface.
