Why is it so hard for people to accept my SSJ1.5 theory?

Regarding the endless "Gohan's form against Dabura" debate, why is it so hard for everyone to accept that Gohan was something between SSJ1 and SSJ2?

We saw at Cell Games that there are intermediate stages between the transformations: when Gohan was getting angry, and his hair rose, and Cell was like, "Good, your power has increased a little.'

Because the lightning is a pretty clear indicator of SSJ2 and always will be.

Because it's dumb. Toriyama uses visual indicators to firmly establish new forms and loves hyping up new forms. The "Bi-Saiyan" theory is bogus, sorry. Not sorry.

Except when Akira Toriyama randomly forgets that he used electricity for Super Saiyan 2 aura... or forgets about Super Saiyan 2 even existing. This is the author whose story people are trying to dive deeply into.

With that said, I don't think that Akira Toriyama thought about using an in-between Super Saiyan form. In fact, I don't think he put much thought into this in the first place. He's really not a deep storyteller at all. "Gohan fights Dabra. Gohan needs full power! Super Saiyan." This is probably the closest to Toriyama's thought process for those panels. And yes, maybe it's way oversimplified, but this is the image that Toriyama has portrayed of himself, so I'm working with what I'm given here.
