Why was Trunks so seemingly against going to the past?

Why was he? I mean his first time-travel. He says he can defeat the Androids now and doesn't need the time-machine.

Why is he so against that?

Doesn't he want to leave his own time-line? Doesn't he want to leave Future Bulma there alone at Capsule-Corp? Is he scared of meeting the others, since he doesn't know them? Like Vegeta (especially after what Bulma seemed to have told him) and Goku and so-on?

Why?

His biggest fear was robot Freeza. That's why he bribed Toriyama to make his fight with him as short as possible :troll

He was hasty to get rid of the Androids.

He was probably getting his inner Vegeta on thinking now that he surpassed his mentor Gohandz that he could do anything. He quickly resorted to his time machine once he realized the androids walk circles around him.

It still seems weird. I mean who would not jump at the opportunity to time-travel? :shillary :shillary :shillary

Especially since at first they thought that going to the past can change the future.

Trunks admitted to Goku outright that he was running the risk of changing history, which he rightfully should never do although he believes some history should be changed.

Also, if anybody told Vegeta he probably wouldn't impregnate Bulma, so no Trunks in that timeline :troll

True, even-though this it's bad to change history I don't understand. Maybe it has some deep-rooted reason for being bad.

I believe part of the reason stems from his inheritance from Vegeta of disliking assistance from others. He was always displeased that he had to seek the help of Goku and the others due to his failure of becoming strong enough himself. In both the manga and in the anime of Super, Trunks expressed his frustration to not being able to handle his situation and save his own world by himself.

Though, there was a small scene in the anime during his training sequence with Vegeta where he actually favored the idea of bringing Goku and Vegeta into the future to handle Black for him since they have such godly powers; this enraged Vegeta, of course.
